Planning the job
Post spacing
Most fence runs work to posts at roughly 1.8m centres. Measure the run first and we will work out the post and panel count with you.
Post length
Allow enough to go in the ground — usually around a third of the above-ground height. A 1.8m fence generally wants a 2.4m post.
Decking falls
Lay boards with a slight fall away from the house and leave a gap between them so water drains rather than sitting.
Buy early in season
Fencing sells out fast after a storm and decking goes with the first sunshine. Ring ahead to check before you travel.
